Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame President’s Reception held Wednesday afternoon.

At the Wednesday afternoon reception, Bill Ford, newly appointed President of the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame, welcomed a capacity crowd of racing industry supporters, Hall of Fame honoured members, and incoming inductees.  During his remarks, Ford thanked outgoing President, Darryl Kaplan, for the accomplishments during his six-year tenure in the position including several new projects and initiatives that will benefit the Hall for many years to come.

Co-hosts Kelly Spencer and Robert Geller introduced the Class of 2024 inductees:

Dr. Moira Gunn – Builder, Sylvain Filion and Ed Tracey – Drivers, Dr. Ian Moore – Trainer, Ross “Cowboy” Curran – Veteran and Bee A Magician Standardbred Female Horse.

Glen Todd – Thoroughbred Builder, Patrick Husbands – Jockey, Dan Vella – Trainer, Richard Grubb – Veteran, Starship Jubilee – Thoroughbred Female Horse and Channel Maker – Thoroughbred Male Horse.

At the gathering, the connections of the 2022 and 2023 horse inductees were the first to receive a personalized Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame stall plate, with plans to continue that practice for all future horse inductees.  The stall plates will also be made available to previously inducted horses.

The permanent biography panels for the classes of 2022 and 2023 were then unveiled for:

CHRHF Class of 2022:  Eurico Rosa Da Silva – Jockey, Jack Darling – Standardbred Trainer, Charles E. Fipke – Thoroughbred Builder, Gilles Gendron – Standardbred Veteran, Frank Salive – Standardbred Communicator, Alydeed – Thoroughbred Veteran, Court Vision – Thoroughbred Male Horse and Shadow Play – Standardbred Male Horse.

CHRHF Class of 2023:  Chris Christoforou – Driver, Irwin Driedger – Jockey, Dr. Lloyd S. McKibbin, DVM – Standardbred Builder, R. Glenn Sikura – Thoroughbred Builder, Bulldog Hanover – Standardbred Male Horse, Formal Gold – Thoroughbred Veteran, Pink Lloyd – Thoroughbred Male Horse and Pure Ivory – Standardbred Female Horse.
